Saying "that really sucks" doesn't really begin to cover how this has to feel right now... I'll keep my eye out for any headhunter emails or calls that allow telecommuting for you, and hope that they at least gave you a big enough cushion to make the job search a little less traumatic.
I'd try to get you hired here, but then you'd have to move to Austin, TX...a bit of a different world than Maine.

Unfortunately, they didn't give us much of a cushion and it was pretty much unexpected. This is not something I was looking at having to do when starting off the year.
Wow. That's just...wow. What kind of company drops something like that on its employees at the start of a year. (I suppose it's better than right before Christmas, though.)
I'll keep an ear out for anything that's happening up that way. I know any other company would be lucky to have you on staff.

I'm not sure about that. Holidays would have sucked a bit had they done it before Christmas, but at least we could have planned a bit better and maybe but back on things for it. I've been through layoffs before but nothing ever like how this went down. Felt like an episode of the Apprentice. You're Fired! now exit the building. Anyways, I want to say thanks to everyone who has contacted me. I really do appreciate all the help everyone has offered with my job search. |
